Wireless routers, also known as access points, establish connections between computers through the transmission of radio waves. The process is streamlined when utilizing Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS), offering an automatic and user-friendly configuration for your network.

However, in instances where automatic configuration is not supported by your networking devices or when a more detailed specification of authentication and encryption settings is desired, manual setup becomes necessary. It is crucial to ensure that your computer is accurately linked to the network for seamless connectivity.

Setting Up Connection Using WPS Push Button Mode:

To establish a connection utilizing WPS push button mode, ensure your wireless router supports this feature. If so, simply press the WPS button on the router to proceed with the setup.

  1. Tap <Menu> in the <Home> Screen.
  2. Tap .
    • If prompted to enter a PIN, input it with the numeric keys and tap <Apply>.
    • Refer to Setting the System Manager PIN (P. 397).
  3. Tap .
    • If asked, confirm enabling the wireless LAN by tapping <Yes>.
    • If warned about disabling Direct Connection, tap <Yes>.
  4. Read and acknowledge the displayed message by tapping <OK>.
  5. Tap <WPS Push Button Mode>.
  6. Confirm the action by tapping <Yes>.
  7. Press and hold the WPS button on the wireless router within 2 minutes of tapping in step 6.
    • Note: Depending on the device, hold the button for at least 2 seconds; refer to device manuals for guidance.
  8. Verify that the Wi-Fi indicator on the operation panel is blinking, indicating router detection.
    • Upon setup completion, the screen below is displayed, and the Wi-Fi indicator lights up after approximately 2 seconds.
    • Wait for about 2 minutes until the machine’s IP address settings are finalized.

Setting Up Connection Using WPS PIN Code Mode:

  1. Access your wireless router from a computer and open the screen for entering a WPS PIN code.
  2. On the machine:
    • Tap <Menu> on the <Home> Screen.
  3. Tap .
    • If prompted to enter a PIN, input it using the numeric keys and tap <Apply>. (Refer to Setting the System Manager PIN, P. 397)
  4. Tap .
    • Confirm enabling the wireless LAN by tapping <Yes>.
    • If warned about disabling Direct Connection, tap <Yes>.
  5. Read and acknowledge the displayed message by tapping <OK>.
  6. Tap <WPS PIN Code Mode>.
  7. Confirm the action by tapping <Yes>.
  8. Register the generated PIN code to the wireless router.
  9. Verify that the Wi-Fi indicator on the operation panel is blinking.
    • The blinking indicates successful detection of the wireless router.
