Checking the Connection

Utilize the Epson Printer Connection Checker to assess the connectivity status between the computer and printer. Potential problem resolution is contingent upon the findings of this examination.

If the desktop lacks the icon, refer to the procedures below to launch the Epson Printer Connection Checker.

  • For Windows 10:
    Access the start button, then navigate to Epson Software > Epson Printer Connection Checker.
  • For Windows 8.1/Windows 8:
    Enter the application name in the search charm, then select the corresponding icon.
  • For Windows 7:
    Click the start button, then go to All Programs > Epson Software > Epson Printer Connection Checker.

How to Fix IEEE802.3a issue?

Proceed with the following steps to deactivate IEEE802.3az for the printer before establishing the connection.

  1. Disconnect the Ethernet cable linking the computer and the printer.
  2. If IEEE802.3az is enabled on the computer, disable it. Refer to the computer’s documentation for specific instructions.
  3. Establish a direct connection between the computer and the printer using an Ethernet cable.
  4. Generate a network connection report on the printer.
  5. Examine the printer’s IP address in the network connection report.
  6. Access Web Config on the computer.
  7. Navigate to Advanced Settings at the top right of the window.
  8. Choose Network Settings > Wired LAN.
  9. Set IEEE 802.3az to OFF.
  10. Click Next.
  11. Click OK.
  12. Disconnect the Ethernet cable between the computer and the printer.
  13. If you disabled IEEE802.3az for the computer in step 2, re-enable it.
  14. Reconnect the Ethernet cables detached in step 1 to both the computer and the printer.

If the issue persists, external devices other than the printer may be contributing to the problem.
